We’ve found that piecemeal bits of PR or marketing promotion without a plan rarely has satisfactory results.
Consider marketing like a football team. Relying by itself on PR or advertising or even new stuff like social media is like putting a striker all on his/her ownsome out on the pitch and expecting to win the match. Without the rest of the team that goal scorer won’t hit the back of the net.
Then if you put the whole team out but don’t have a plan of attack, the match is likely to be a confused mess. Imagine the post-match changing room – no analysis of what went well or what could create an extra goal or two next time, just a lot of recriminations and befuddlement.
We like our clients to be clear about what they are doing and why, and especially when time and budget is so precious.
And we believe that this part – the marketing planning part – of the process is the most important bit. Which is why we never do it for free.
